Our Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel list is Orzhov life drain. Niv-Mizzet taps to drain each opponent for 1, and whenever you gain life, you may pay that much life to draw that many cards.
The deck gains life constantly with Soul Warden and extort, doubles it with Rhox Faithmender and Alhammarret's Archive, turns life gain into damage with Sanguine Bond and Vito, and wins on the spot with Exquisite Blood.
How it plays
- Gain life constantly. Soul Warden, Auriok Champion, Guide of Souls and extort from Crypt Ghast and Blind Obedience gain life every turn.
- Turn life into cards and damage. Niv-Mizzet draws off each gain. Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose and Starscape Cleric turn gains into drain.
- Close the loop. Exquisite Blood with Sanguine Bond, Vito or Enduring Tenacity is an instant win, or finish with Aetherflux Reservoir or Exsanguinate.

Are these real Magic cards?
No. These are unofficial, high-quality proxy cards printed for casual play — perfect for testing a deck, playing with friends, or enjoying a full Commander deck without hunting down every expensive card. They are not affiliated with or endorsed by Wizards of the Coast.
Can I use them in tournaments?
No. Proxies aren’t legal in sanctioned events. They’re made for kitchen-table games, Commander nights and any playgroup that allows proxies — always check with your group first.
What are the cards printed on?
330 GSM black-core cardstock with a glossy finish. The black core keeps the cards opaque, so nothing shows through from the back.
Will they fit my sleeves?
Yes. Every card is standard Magic size (63 × 88 mm), so standard sleeves such as Dragon Shield or KMC fit perfectly.

What’s the difference between Foil and Non-Foil?
Both versions contain the exact same cards, printed on the same 330 GSM black-core cardstock. Non-Foil cards have a glossy finish; Foil cards add a shiny foil layer on every card for extra flash at the table.
