The deck floods the board with cheap artifacts like Mishra's Bauble and Ornithopter, draws with Vedalken Archmage and Rhystic Study, and ends games with Isochron Scepter and Dramatic Reversal or a huge Construct army.

01The Commander
Urza, Lord High Artificer is a four-mana Human Artificer. When he enters, create a 0/0 Construct artifact token that gets +1/+1 for each artifact you control.
Tap an untapped artifact you control: add {U}. Every Ornithopter, Bauble and Thopter token becomes a mana source.
For {5}, shuffle your library and exile the top card. You may play it this turn without paying its mana cost. With enough mana, Urza casts card after card for free.

Hullbreaker Horror + Isochron Scepter
With infinite mana from the Scepter loop, Hullbreaker bounces every opposing permanent.
Displacer Kitten + Urza, Lord High Artificer
Every noncreature spell flickers Urza for another Construct.
10How to Play
Opening hand
Keep hands with three lands and two cheap artifacts. Urza on turn three or four turns them into mana.
Early gameturns 1-3
Play Mishra's Bauble, Ornithopter and mana rocks, then Rhystic Study or Mystic Remora.
Mid gameturns 4-7
Cast Urza and add payoffs like Vedalken Archmage or Sai, Master Thopterist.
Late gameturn 8+
Assemble Isochron Scepter with Dramatic Reversal for infinite mana, then use Urza's {5} ability over and over.
Tips
- Urza's mana ability can tap artifact creatures, even ones with summoning sickness.
- The Construct counts every artifact you control, including itself.
- Urza's {5} ability shuffles first, so use Sensei's Divining Top before, not after.
- Dramatic Reversal untaps your artifacts, and Urza taps them for blue again.
Common mistakes
- Tapping all your artifacts for mana and leaving no blockers.
- Imprinting the wrong instant on Isochron Scepter.
- Playing out every artifact into an artifact wipe.
- Forgetting Urza's free card is lost if you can't play it this turn.
Watch out for
- Artifact wipes.
- Removal on Urza.
- Counterspells on Isochron Scepter.
- Effects that stop activated abilities.
