Bracket 3 · Our Ezio Auditore da Firenze decklist · Assassin Tribal
Our Ezio list is five-color Assassins. Ezio gives every Assassin spell a cheap freerunning cost and can knock out any player at 10 or less life with one hit.
The deck pumps the crew with Achilles Davenport, Arno Dorian and Ramses, gets through with menace, unblockable Assassins and Equipment, and draws cards off every hit with Ezio, Blade of Vengeance and Coastal Piracy.

01The Commander
Ezio Auditore da Firenze is a two-mana 3/2 with menace. Assassin spells you cast have freerunning {B}{B}, so after an Assassin or your commander deals combat damage to a player, any Assassin costs just two black mana that turn.
Whenever Ezio deals combat damage to a player, you may pay {W}{U}{B}{R}{G} if that player has 10 or less life. When you do, that player loses the game.
Life is checked as the trigger resolves, so damage from other attackers and triggers that resolve first can set it up. Keep all five colors open on your attack turns.
02How This Deck Wins
- 1
Hit early
Ezio and cheap Assassins like Basim Ibn Ishaq, Desmond Miles and Evie Frye connect early and turn on freerunning.
- 2
Freerun the big ones
After combat damage, cast expensive Assassins like Thraximundar or Edward Kenway for {B}{B}, and refill with Ezio, Blade of Vengeance and Coastal Piracy.
- 3
Assassinate
Get an opponent to 10 or less and hit them with Ezio, or close it out with Ramses, Assassin Lord, Etrata, the Silencer or Unstoppable Slasher.

Ezio Auditore da Firenze + Ramses, Assassin Lord
Ezio's trigger makes a player lose after Assassins attacked them. Ramses then wins you the game on the spot.
Unstoppable Slasher + Ezio Auditore da Firenze
When both connect, let Slasher's trigger resolve first. The player loses half their life, so Ezio's trigger often finds them at 10 or less.
Mari, the Killing Quill + Etrata, the Silencer
Mari exiles opposing creatures that die with hit counters. Those count toward the three hit counters Etrata needs to make a player lose.
Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad + The Animus
The Animus exiles a legendary creature card from your graveyard with a memory counter at each end step. Altaïr makes an attacking copy of every one of them each time he attacks.
10How to Play
Opening hand
Keep hands with three lands that make at least three colors and a two- or three-mana Assassin. Ezio on turn two starts freerunning early.
Early gameturns 1-3
Cast Ezio and attack. Add cheap Assassins like Basim Ibn Ishaq, Desmond Miles or Evie Frye and fix your colors.
Mid gameturns 4-7
Connect, then freerun big Assassins for {B}{B} after combat. Land a lord like Achilles Davenport or Arno Dorian and a draw engine like Coastal Piracy.
Late gameturn 8+
Push an opponent to 10 or less and hit them with Ezio holding {W}{U}{B}{R}{G}. With Ramses, Assassin Lord out, that wins the game.
Tips
- Freerunning only works after combat damage, so attack first and cast big Assassins in your second main phase.
- Desynchronization returns every nonhistoric nonland permanent, so your legendary Assassins stay but tokens and nonlegendary cards like Coastal Piracy bounce too.
- Cover of Darkness naming Assassin gives fear to Ezio and nearly every creature in the deck.
- Etrata, the Silencer shuffles itself into your library after each hit, so expect to recast it.
Common mistakes
- Attacking with Ezio without all five colors open when an opponent is at 10 or less.
- Casting an Assassin at full cost before combat when freerunning was a hit away.
- Forgetting Unstoppable Slasher only returns if it had no counters on it.
- Overextending into a wipe without recursion like Back in Town in hand.
Watch out for
- Board wipes.
- Removal on Ezio.
- Big blockers and fliers that stop small Assassins.
- Graveyard hate against your recursion.
11Bracket and Rule 0
Our list runs no Game Changers.
This is a Bracket 3 (Upgraded) style deck with no Game Changers. Ezio's trigger with Ramses, Assassin Lord wins on the spot, and Etrata, the Silencer and Unstoppable Slasher end games fast, so mention them at Rule 0.
