Bracket 3 · Our Commodore Guff decklist · Planeswalker Tribal
Our Commodore Guff list is Jeskai superfriends: a deck of planeswalkers led by a planeswalker commander. Guff grows your other walkers every turn, makes mana for more of them, and turns your walker count into card draw and damage.
The deck protects its walkers with Silent Arbiter, Onakke Oathkeeper and Fog Bank, multiplies loyalty with Oath of Gideon, Lae'zel and Ichormoon Gauntlet, and clears the board with wipes like Urza's Ruinous Blast that leave your legendary walkers untouched.

01The Commander
Commodore Guff puts a loyalty counter on another planeswalker you control at the beginning of each end step, so every walker you play keeps growing for free.
His +1 makes a 1/1 Wizard that taps for red to cast planeswalkers, which ramps you into the deck. His −3 draws you X cards and deals X damage to each opponent, where X is the number of planeswalkers you control. With four walkers out, that is four cards and four damage to everyone.
Proliferate effects and Lae'zel, Vlaakith's Champion keep Guff's loyalty high enough to use the −3 again and again.
02How This Deck Wins
- 1
Land walkers early
Cheap walkers like Teferi, Time Raveler, Saheeli, Sublime Artificer and Teyo, Geometric Tactician go down while signets and Guff's Wizards ramp you.
- 2
Protect and grow them
Silent Arbiter, Onakke Oathkeeper and Fog Bank stop attacks, while Guff, Oath of Gideon and proliferate keep loyalty climbing.
- 3
Ultimate and burn
Fire off Guff's −3 for cards and damage, reach ultimates with Ichormoon Gauntlet or Deepglow Skate, and finish with Chandra, Legacy of Fire.

04Loyalty Engines
More loyalty means more activations and faster ultimates.

05Planeswalkers
Most of the deck is walkers. These are the ones that do the most work.
Also in this role
06Defence
Planeswalkers die to attacks. These make attacking them a bad idea.

07Board Wipes
Your threats are planeswalkers, so creature wipes are almost one-sided.

08Mana
Three colors and a curve of four- and five-mana walkers need a lot of rocks.

09Combos and Key Interactions
Teferi, Temporal Archmage + The Chain Veil
Teferi's −1 untaps The Chain Veil and three lands. With one more mana source, you can activate the Veil and every walker's abilities again and again.
Commodore Guff + Repeated Reverberation
Copy Guff's −3 twice: you draw and deal damage equal to your walker count three times.
Lae'zel, Vlaakith's Champion + Ichormoon Gauntlet
Every proliferate and every noncreature spell adds two loyalty instead of one, which reaches ultimates quickly.
10How to Play
Opening hand
Keep hands with two or three lands, a signet or talisman, and an early walker or defensive creature. The deck needs mana for four- and five-drop walkers.
Early gameturns 1-3
Play rocks and cheap walkers like Teferi, Time Raveler or Saheeli, Sublime Artificer. Use Guff's +1 for Wizard mana once he lands.
Mid gameturns 4-7
Add defence like Silent Arbiter or Onakke Oathkeeper and keep landing walkers. Guff grows a walker every end step.
Late gameturn 8+
Use Guff's −3 for cards and damage, reach ultimates with proliferate, and clear the board with Urza's Ruinous Blast or Farewell.
Tips
- Guff's end step trigger targets another walker, so put it on the one closest to its ultimate.
- Urza's Ruinous Blast needs a legendary creature or planeswalker, and Guff counts.
- Spark Double can copy a planeswalker and isn't legendary, so you can have two of the same walker.
- Teferi, Master of Time can activate on any player's turn.
Common mistakes
- Overextending walkers into an aggressive board without defence.
- Using Guff's −3 when it leaves him too low to survive.
- Wiping the board while your own creatures hold off attackers.
- Forgetting The Chain Veil's life loss if you don't activate a walker.
Watch out for
- Fliers and haste creatures that attack walkers immediately.
- Planeswalker removal like Hero's Downfall.
- Proliferate decks that grow their own counters faster.
- Aggressive token decks.
11Bracket and Rule 0
Our list runs 2 Game Changers (Farewell, Narset, Parter of Veils), within the Bracket 3 limit of three.
Teferi, Temporal Archmage and The Chain Veil can loop with extra mana. Tell your table before the game.
