How to Play Breya, Etherium Shaper Artifacts in Commander

Bracket 3 · Our Breya, Etherium Shaper decklist · Artifacts

Our Breya list is four-color artifacts. Breya makes two Thopters when she enters, then sacrifices any two artifacts to deal 3 damage, kill a creature or gain 5 life.

The deck makes artifact tokens with Sai, Efficient Construction and Stridehangar Automaton, recurs artifacts with Scrap Trawler and Daretti, and wins with Thopter Foundry loops, Marionette Master or Breya's pings.

01The Commander

Breya, Etherium Shaper is a four-mana artifact creature. When she enters, create two 1/1 flying Thopters.

For {2} and two artifacts, Breya deals 3 damage to a player or planeswalker, gives a creature -4/-4, or gains you 5 life. She can do this as often as you have mana and artifacts.

Treasures, Clues, Thopters and Munitions are all fuel, so every token maker in the deck doubles as ammunition for Breya.

02How This Deck Wins

  1. 1

    Make artifacts

Sai, Master Thopterist, Efficient Construction, Pinnacle Emissary and Stridehangar Automaton make tokens with every artifact you cast.

  2. 2

    Sacrifice for value

Breya, Krark-Clan Ironworks, Ashnod's Altar and Thopter Foundry turn artifacts into damage, mana and more Thopters.

  3. 3

    Close it out

Marionette Master, Reckless Fireweaver, Tezzeret, Master of the Bridge and Breya's 3-damage mode finish the table.

09Combos and Key Interactions

+

Thopter Foundry + Sword of the Meek

Pay {1} to sacrifice the Sword for a Thopter, and the Sword returns attached. Each loop makes a Thopter and gains 1 life.

+

Breya, Etherium Shaper + Nim Deathmantle

With Ashnod's Altar, sacrifice Breya and her Thopters for mana, pay 4 to bring her back, and repeat.

+

Marionette Master + Breya, Etherium Shaper

Every pair of artifacts Breya sacrifices also drains a player for Marionette Master's power twice.

10How to Play

Opening hand

Keep hands with three lands or two lands and a mana rock, plus a cheap artifact engine like Sai or Efficient Construction.

1

Early gameturns 1-3

Play mana rocks, Etherium Sculptor and Esper Sentinel.

2

Mid gameturns 4-7

Cast Breya, then token makers like Sai, Master Thopterist. Use Breya's modes to remove threats.

3

Late gameturn 8+

Assemble Thopter Foundry and Sword of the Meek, or turn your board into damage with Marionette Master and Breya.

Tips

  • Breya can sacrifice Treasures and Clues as well as Thopters.
  • Sword of the Meek returns whenever any 1/1 creature you control enters, not only Thopters.
  • Stridehangar Automaton adds a Thopter to every artifact token you make, including Treasures.
  • Organic Extinction has improvise, so tap your artifacts to cast it.

Common mistakes

  • Sacrificing mana rocks to Breya early.
  • Wiping with Organic Extinction while your board is nonartifact creatures.
  • Leaving Breya exposed without protection.
  • Forgetting Thopter Foundry needs a nontoken artifact.

Watch out for

  • Artifact wipes.
  • Graveyard hate on Sword of the Meek loops.
  • Effects that stop activated abilities.
  • Fast aggro before your engines start.
